Texas Taxes for the Construction Industry

What Texas contractors need to know about  state sales and use tax.

Course Overview: Designed for contractors and subcontractors who have questions about Texas sales and use tax, this four-hour virtual class will teach you how to apply sales tax rules surrounding the following:

  • New construction
  • Repair/remodeling
  • Maintenance
  • Equipment rental
  • Real property services
  • Exemption, resale, and direct payment exemption certificates
  • Local tax rules
  • Audit tips

What to Expect: Class sizes are kept small to facilitate discussion and enable participants to ask questions in real-time. Small groups also provide a great environment for the Zoom virtual platform we use to run the event.

Course Materials: You will receive an updated copy of “Texas Taxes for the Construction Industry©”.  Included in the book are cheat sheets for both the AR and AP department.

Course Takeaways: Whether new or experienced, this seminar gives attendees both broad concepts as well as concepts specific to the construction industry in Texas. We also want you to leave with an understanding of both the sales and purchase side of the business so we review examples of invoices from both.

Any changes to the class offerings will be announced.  Participants who have signed up will be notified via email.
